I am Nadine Marais. A BSc Sport Science (Hons) graduate who is extremely passionate about sport, specifically swimming. It’s this passion that has paved the path to where I am today. Not only do I still enjoy swimming myself, I am privileged to be able to coach it as well.
Sport Science and swimming has opened doors to many things like my new found love of cycling. I started cycling recreationally in May this year which lead to me entering “The Replacements” competition with 947 and Trek Bicycles. To my surprise I won the task of cycling for Lucky du Plessis on an awesome Trek bicycle and will be cycling the Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge on Sunday 18 November 2018.
As Ben Parker wisely told us: “with great power comes great responsibility“. And one such responsibility is to help those who unfortunately cannot help themselves. Just like my passion for sport, I too have a passion for children and being part of their progress and growth but without their health or true care they cannot reach their true potentials.
This is why I am cycling for Surgeons for Little Lives – as cliche as this may sound, these little people are our future and it’s our responsibility to ensure that they are fit and equipped to take on that role when their time comes.
Join me in Cycling for a Purpose and Cycle for Surgeons for Little Lives! Let’s show our youngest members that our beautiful country still has a heart of gold!
