The Lakhoo family decided to honour the memory of their late father, Dr Lakhoo, who passed away 10 years ago. He was a specialist surgeon, practicing at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital as well as private practice for many years. He was head of Specialized Surgery at Bara.
He is memorialised at Bara – an auditorium was named after him: The Mags Lakhoo Auditorium. He was the kindest and most giving soul so what better way to honour him than by putting together 108 arrival and discharge packs for kids going in and out of surgery at Bara.
The extended family contributed and got together in early September to put the packs together in a sort of assembly line. It was a happy day for all! The packs were delivered to SFLL on 18 September – on Dr Lakhoo’s would be 66th birthday.
